President Obama's decision to allow young illegal immigrants to stay spawned a lot of mixed reactions from the citizenry. In a CNN discussion hosted by Don Lemon, he asked why he did it only this time when he could have done it three years ago. Is this because of national elections fast approaching? Or President Obama only wanted to comply to his campaign promise of fixing the obsolete immigration system in the United States? Well, the announcement Friday earned positive praises from the Latino communities, where a lot of children who were brought to the U.S, by their illegal immigrant parents who crossed the borders from Mexico to seek for a much better life in America. Reading news reports on the illegal immigration crisis had all the more made many people worry. No doubt about that. As if the hands of God have not yet made a miracle, that will eventually put some of those against the alleged "Grand Bargain" into hypnotic trance, and finally change their meticulous minds by concertedly agreeing to the clamor of a lot of people to let it go to the House of Representatives for further scrutiny. With the collapse of the proposed comprehensive immigration bill crafted by at least 12 senators, concerned observers have expressed apprehensions that it would create an impending backlash against those who had acted to kill the bill after some amendments that favor their interests failed to be considered. With election period near approaching, it is likely that the immediate impacts could be felt by those who voted against it. The U.S. government is in the process of strengthening its biometric identification measures against citizens of the 27 countries that have participated in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program to avoid another 9/11 incident in the country, where more than three thousand people were killed.
