The impeachment trial of CJ Renato C. Corona is an occasion that should be watched by every concerned citizen. I, for one, find it so entertaining that I don't want to miss any moment of it. Besides, I'm not a lawyer which is the reason why I wanted to learn and be educated more on how those legal terminologies are being applied in the court of law. How I wished the impeachment trial will go on forever because I'm amused every time I hear Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago berates and terrorizes the members of the prosecution on matters that have bearing on the articles of impeachment. However, last night was the most frustrating moment when Santiago again used the rostrum to go ballistics, as what the Philippine Daily Inquirer described it. Las Vegas gambling mogul Steve Wynn is no longer allowed to set up a casino business in the Philippines. This developed after members of a congressional committee in the House of Representatives felt Wynn had denigrated the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) by alleging in his lawsuit in the United States that some Pagcor officials received bribes from Mr, Kazuo Okada, a Japanese business tycoon, and Wynn's estranged partner in Pagcor Entertainment City project in Manila Bay. In a statement released to the media by his representative Masahiro Terada, Okada said  that Wynn was supposed to be his business partner in the proposed Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation  (Pagcor) Entertainment City in the Philippines. Government now free to sell shares to San Miguel costing P83.7B I don't think it would be appropriate for the national government to tap for infrastructure spending even a portion of the P83.7 billion coco levy funds that could be raised should any interested bidder is able to buy the 24 percent government shares from SMC . Since this huge sums of money is owned by the millions of coconut farmers nationwide, perhaps, what the government can do is to invest the money somewhere (without any hanky panky ) through a conduit of their choice and then issue dividends to the farmers on a yearly basis or whatever options had been agreed upon among themselves. Perhaps, part of the money could also be used to set up a copra buying stations and processing mills in most copra-producing provinces in the country. The judicial circus that engulfs the on-going impeachment trial against Chief Justice Renato Corona before the Senate judges had a long way in coming before a decision had been finally made. And it took the guts and courage of a new leader in the person of P-Noy to once for all, clear the murky waters that surround the judiciary system in the Philippines.
